Meet the Founder & President

Rose Nejatfard

Founder & President, The Missing Piece at UCLA

UCLA Psychology Student

Rose Nejatfard is the Founder and President of The Missing Piece, an organization she created to bridge the gap between learning about psychological disorders and understanding their real impact on individuals and communities. Driven by her passion for psychology, education, and service, Rose founded The Missing Piece to create a space where students can move beyond the classroom and engage with psychology through knowledge, perspective, and meaningful action.

Her vision led to the development of the organization’s three core pillars: Learn a Piece, Hear a Piece, and Give a Piece. Each pillar represents a step toward a greater understanding of psychological disorders, beginning with education, expanding through professional and lived perspectives, and ultimately transforming that knowledge into opportunities to give back.

As President, Rose leads the vision and direction of The Missing Piece, overseeing its executive board, educational programming, guest speaker collaborations, partnerships, and community initiatives. Through the organization, she hopes to build a lasting community of students who are not only passionate about understanding psychology, but also committed to using that understanding to create meaningful impact.

Why She Started The Missing Piece

Rose founded The Missing Piece to transform how we perceive mental health, moving beyond surface-level awareness to deep clinical understanding. Her vision is built on three pillars: clinical education, diverse community perspectives, and direct social action. By connecting UCLA students with professional research and community involvement, she aims to provide the final puzzle piece in the journey toward comprehensive psychological literacy.
